Special Voting Commences Smoothly in Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam.

Ajumako: The special voting exercise for the 2024 general election is underway smoothly in the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam Constituency at the District Office of the Electoral Commission (EC) in Ajumako. Voting began promptly at 07:00 hours at two designated polling stations, with 753 special voters expected to participate.According to Ghana News Agency, the voting process has proceeded without any issues, with each voter taking a maximum of five minutes to complete their ballot. By 09:20 hours, 98 individuals had exercised their right to vote. Electoral Commission officers collected the ballot papers for both presidential and parliamentary elections from the district police office at 06:00 hours and delivered them to presiding officers at the polling stations. Each station was allocated 385 ballot papers for both election types.Upon arrival at the polling station, voters are identified by their voter identification cards by presiding officers. They are then sent to name reference officers who verify their names from the reference list. Verification officers use Biometric Verification Devices (BVDs) to confirm their identity and mark their little fingers with indelible ink. Voters then proceed to the presidential ballot issuer to collect their ballot papers, cast their votes in a booth, and then move to the parliamentary ballot issuer to repeat the process before exiting the polling station.Madam Eunice Bonsi, the District Electoral Officer, informed the Ghana News Agency that the BVDs were functioning perfectly, ensuring a smooth voting process. She noted, "We haven't had any issues with the process or the political parties. Everything is fine and I am very satisfied with the process." She expressed optimism for a high voter turnout by the close of polls at 17:00 hours.
