Accra: Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), delivered a compelling appeal to voters, urging them to entrust him with the opportunity to transform Ghana. He aims to build on the strong foundation established by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, as he addressed a crowd at the University of Ghana Sports Directorate Park during the NPP's 'Possibilities Victory Rally'.According to Ghana News Agency, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the need for a leader with innovative ideas and integrity to protect the achievements made and propel Ghana into the Fourth Industrial Revolution. He outlined his vision of unleashing the private sector to drive economic transformation, pledging to protect natural resources, improve educational policies, and support the welfare of Zongo communities.Dr. Bawumia highlighted the NPP's innovative policies such as the medical drone delivery system, mobile money interoperability payment, and digital property addressing. He noted the government's inf rastructure achievements, including road construction and railway expansion, as well as significant investment in Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET).He criticized former President John Mahama's intentions to return to power, arguing that the NPP's economic record surpasses that of the previous National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration. Dr. Bawumia also shared plans to shift to solar energy for electricity production, expand electric vehicle use, and introduce fiscal reforms to boost private sector investment.President Akufo-Addo endorsed Dr. Bawumia as the best candidate for the 2024 elections, denouncing divisive religious rhetoric from certain clergymen. The President emphasized the peaceful coexistence of Christians and Muslims in Ghana, urging unity against religious discord.The rally marked the culmination of nationwide campaigning by the NPP, drawing a large crowd of enthusiastic supporters and notable party figures, including former President John Agyekum Kufuor and curren t ministers and parliamentarians.
