Shama District Assembly Coordinator Calls on Public/Civil Servants to Work with Reset Agenda

Shama: Mr. Richard Blevi, the Coordinating Director for Shama District Assembly, has encouraged civil and public servants to adopt a new mindset towards work and nation-building to align with the government's reset agenda. He emphasized the importance of remembering the selflessness of individuals during the country's independence and urged the current generation to advance the development aspirations of the nation.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Blevi, who delivered the independence day address as the acting District Chief Executive, urged civil and public officers of the Assembly to reflect, review, and renew their commitment to building a better Ghana. He highlighted the need for a change in mentality and practices that do not support the development of the country or the district.

He further stated, "As we all know, the President is resetting the nation, and so we as technocrats, civil servants, or public servants of the country, we should also be prepared. We should change our mindset. We should change the way we do things. We should be in control and contribute our quota, through the opportunity that we have been given to serve the nation."

The Shama District Assembly Coordinator stressed the importance of Ghana taking its place among the comity of nations, noting that such recognition could only be achieved through the rigorous contributions of all citizens. The anniversary celebration also honored students who excelled in their senior high school final exams. School children re-enacted the famous declaration of independence by Dr. Nkrumah and the members of the big six, and a quiz competition was held to crown the day's activities. Councillor David Worden from South Molton in the United Kingdom was the special guest of honor.
