Tunis: Clashes and violence broke out on Wednesday afternoon between sub-Saharan migrants in El Hmaizia, El Amra delegation, Sfax governorate.Several sub-Saharan migrants were injured, some of whom were taken to the Habib Bourguiba University Hospital in Sfax, TAP correspondent reported, citing a regional source.Mohamed Nafti Gdouda, the first delegate and acting governor of Sfax said 'the situation is currently under control' and that a 'prudent calm' is reigning in the region, amid a strong security presence and reinforcements being mobilised in the area.Several arrests have been made among the sub-Saharan migrants, the regional official revealed, adding that an investigation has been launched to determine the motives behind these clashes, which he said were 'not the first of their kind' to break out in the region.Thousands of irregular sub-Saharan migrants live in camps in several locations in El Amra.Source: Agence Tunis Afrique Presse
