Accra: It was a colourful Kente display at this year's Rhythms On Da Runway as industry players and fashion enthusiasts thronged the Grand Arena to witness creativity.According to Ghana News Agency, the 12th edition of the event, which told the African fashion story, began with pomp and pageantry on the green carpet while patrons fraternised with one another. The Kwanpa Band welcomed guests to the main auditorium with top selections from their repertoire, before Apiorkor Seyiram Ashong-Abbey set the ball rolling with intriguing Kente poetry.Jerry Adjorlolo and AJ Akuoko Sarpong, the moderators on duty, brought on their A-game as the night transitioned from one scene to the other. Patrons witnessed exquisite designs adorned by top models who briskly demonstrated their catwalk finesse on the runway, featuring designers like Ophelia Crossland, Velma's Millinery and Accessories, Yaws Creation, Selina Beb, Odefille, Milkwhite Apparel, Masantewaa, and Kustom Look Clothier.The show was interspersed with perfor mances from Edem, Amandzeba Nat Brew, Kwabena Kwabena, Michael Stuckey, Bibie Brew, Asabea Cropper and Kenteman. Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year, Stonebwoy, made a surprise appearance, taking the audience to a different dimension with his back-to-back renditions. The 'Jejereje' composer took the opportunity to preach ahead of the 2024 Parliamentary and Presidential election.For their invaluable contribution to the creative arts industry, highlife music legend Agya Koo Nimo was honoured on the night together with Chief Dele Momodu, Bibie Brew, and Kwabena Kwabena. Since its inception in 2010, Rhythms On Da Runway has inspired unity by merging the vibrant forces of African fashion and music to project outstanding talents.
