ACCRA: In a call for national unity, Reverend Isaac Obed Asamoah, Head Pastor of the Gospel Faith Ministries of Ghana, urged Ghanaians to support President-elect John Dramani Mahama in his efforts to improve the nation's fortunes. As the country transitions into a new political era, Rev. Asamoah emphasized the importance of collective effort in ensuring the success of the incoming administration.
According to Ghana News Agency, Rev. Asamoah, in his New Year's message, highlighted the significance of the recent elections and the need for unity in moving forward. He stressed that the success of President-elect Mahama directly correlates with the success of Ghana. "If the president succeeds, Ghana succeeds. If he fails, Ghana fails," Rev. Asamoah stated, urging citizens to rally behind their leader.
Rev. Asamoah also extended his well wishes to outgoing President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, acknowledging his contributions to the nation during his term. He encouraged the outgoing leader and his family as they prepare to transition out of office.
Addressing President-elect Mahama, Rev. Asamoah noted the importance of faith and divine purpose, urging Mahama to lead with wisdom and strength. He called on Mahama to address the persistent issue of corruption, suggesting the use of state apparatus to combat this challenge. Rev. Asamoah expressed that while eradication might be difficult, minimizing corruption would allow resources to be properly utilized for the benefit of all Ghanaians.
In addition to his political message, Rev. Asamoah encouraged Christians to maintain their faith and focus on spiritual growth. He urged believers to leave behind negative emotions such as bitterness and hatred to embrace the blessings of 2025. Drawing inspiration from scripture, he assured that a steadfast focus on Jesus would lead to transformative outcomes.
