Bolgatanga: Reverend Father Camillus Baba Ababagre, Parish Priest at the Saint Cyprian's Anglican Church in Bolgatanga, has urged Christians to prepare both for the memorial birth and the unannounced second coming of Christ. He emphasized that the commencement of the celebration of Christ's birth, starting on a Sunday, holds significant symbolism and importance for Christians.According to Ghana News Agency, Reverend Ababagre delivered a sermon themed 'Be prepared for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ,' highlighting the necessity of this period in a Christian's life. He stated, "Christians are drawn to prepare for the coming of Christ, both towards his birth and his second coming. We must prepare in proclamation of his return."Reverend Ababagre pointed out the significance of color within the Anglican Communion, noting that the transition from green to violet on the church's color calendar symbolizes a change of season. He stressed, "Christ deserves a magnificent celebration. Our concentration should be on the preparation of our spiritual life. We should be alert, because his coming will take us by surprise."The Parish Priest further remarked, "Even though we know he would come, we do not know when, and that is why we need to prepare in mind and spirit in waiting. It is time for us to take stock of our lives." He challenged the congregation by asking, "Can we justify the lives we lead today as pleasing to our brother or sister? Otherwise, you need to act now and get prepared for Christ's coming."Reverend Ababagre expressed concern over the lukewarm attitudes towards serving Christ and underscored the urgency in preparing adequately. He concluded, "We need to be confident and bold to meet Christ when he surprises us from his second coming."
