Assin Odumasi: The Assin Odumasi Restoration Child and Youth Development Center, in collaboration with Compassion International, has donated farm tools valued at GHS44,000.00 to over 100 farmers, aiming to enhance their efficiency and productivity in farming.
According to Ghana News Agency, the donation included 100 pieces each of essential farming equipment such as hoes, machetes, watering cans, and agro spraying machines. Reverend John Evans Arthur, Pastor of the Assemblies of God Church, emphasized the critical role of these tools in boosting agricultural productivity, efficiency, and sustainability.
He highlighted that the beneficiaries are parents whose children are sponsored by Compassion International, and these tools are crucial for intensifying their farming efforts and increasing crop yields. Rev. Arthur urged the farmers to handle the tools with care, noting that their usage would be monitored to guide the organization's future decisions.
Pastor Peter Hagan, one of the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude for the support, stating that it would enable him to prepare his land on time, leading to increased yields and contributing to national food security. He committed to using the tools effectively to expand his farm and achieve self-sufficiency.
Mrs. Theresah Amoah, another beneficiary, also thanked the donors, expressing that the assistance had bolstered her confidence in farming and that she hopes to improve her livelihood to better support her family.
