The Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) and Lady Pharmacists Association of Ghana (LAPAG) have endorsed the renewal of the appointment of Professor Mrs. Rita Akosua Dickson as the Vice-Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).A statement copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra said the leadership of PSGH and LAPAG commended the University Council for its decision to renew the appointment of Mrs. Dickson on June 24, 2024.It said the University Council undoubtedly considered her performance to be extremely impressive over the last four years and led to her renewal.It said under the leadership Professor Dickson, the KNUST had seen significant infrastructure development and the adoption of sound academic policies, elevating the University's global standing.Notably, KNUST was ranked the best University in the world for providing quality education on the Sustainable Development Goal four by Times Higher Education Impact Rankings in 2023.The statement said she had d emonstrated exceptional competence in managing this prestigious University and, therefore, deserves the extension of her tenure.'PSGH and LAPAG are extremely proud of the achievements of Mrs. Dickson and pledge our support to her for the next two years.''We call on all stakeholders to support the decision of the University Council to have her appointment renewed,' the statement added.Source: Ghana News Agency
