New york: European Champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have set a date with English side Chelsea Football Club in the finals of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States of America (USA). The French side will be seeking to make history by recording a quadruple this season after winning the French League, Coupe de France, and the UEFA Champions League. According to Ghana News Agency, PSG reached the finals by securing an emphatic 4-0 victory against Real Madrid at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. This triumph has set the stage for a much-anticipated clash against Chelsea, which will take place on Sunday, July 13, once again at the MetLife Stadium. PSG's path to the final was marked by goals from Fabian Ruiz, Ousmane Dembele, and Goncalo Ramos. The French team was dominant, going 3-0 up by the half-hour mark, with Ruiz scoring twice around a breakaway goal from Dembele, who recently returned to the squad. The victory was sealed with a late effort from Ramos, just three minutes from time. Despite th e presence of Kylian Mbappe, who made his first start in this global tournament, Real Madrid was unable to stage a comeback against PSG. The match was particularly significant for Mbappe, as it was not the outcome he had hoped for against his former club. PSG are now on the brink of achieving a historic quadruple, with only one more victory needed to add the FIFA Club World Cup title to their already impressive haul of the Ligue 1 title, Coupe de France, and UEFA Champions League this season.
