Tunis: President of the Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE) Farouk Bouasker on Friday called on candidates wishing to run for the presidential election set for October 6 to provide their full files and endorsements.Candidates could complete their files and endorsements up to August 6, the deadline for submitting candidacies, which begins on July 29, he stated to the media on the sidelines of a visit to the Electoral Accreditation Unit in Tunis.Bouaskar also pointed out that electoral accreditation allows the electoral process to be observed in all its stages, from the registration and updating phase, through the acceptance of candidacies, to the electoral campaign, polling day and, finally, the announcement of the results. The ISIE announced in mid-July that it would be receiving applications for accreditation from observers, local and international journalists and guests to observe and cover the presidential election until September 28.Source: Agence Tunis Afrique Presse
