Policeman Given Ten Days to Produce Escaped Murder Suspect

Kumasi: The Ghana Police Service has issued a directive to a General Lance Corporal, granting him ten days to locate and produce an escaped murder suspect whom he was guarding at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

According to Ghana News Agency, the suspect, Evans Coffie, known by the alias 'Vampire,' sustained gunshot wounds while evading capture. The police briefing indicated that the Lance Corporal was assigned to armed guard duty for the week concluding on February 15, 2025. Coffie was under medical care at KATH, receiving treatment for his injuries.

The briefing further disclosed that the Lance Corporal contacted his Station Officer to report that at approximately 0700 hours, Coffie had managed to flee from his hospital bed. The escape occurred while the officer on duty had temporarily left to procure medication from the pharmacy.
