PCG Kutunse District Welcomes Rev. Dr Chris Baah Nartey as New Minister

Kutunse: The Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) Kutunse District in the Ga Presbytery on Sunday inducted Reverend Dr Chris Baah Nartey as its new district minister. The induction event coincided with the conclusion of the church's national annual Children's Week celebration, themed 'Celebrating our Heritage, Persisting in Mission, Let the Children Come to Me.'

According to Ghana News Agency, Rev. Dr. Nartey, who holds a PhD in New Testament Studies from the Trinity Theological Seminary in Accra, has previously served in various capacities within the church. He is the immediate past Odumase District Minister and was the minister-in-charge of the Zimmermann congregation, Odumase-Krobo. During his induction, he expressed gratitude to Very Rev. Prof. Martey, a former moderator of the church, for supporting his pastoral training journey, which led to his commissioning and ordination as a Presbyterian minister.

Rev. Dr. Nartey outlined his future plans for the district and the Trinity Congregation, promising to double the current church membership as he had achieved in previous postings. He announced initiatives to establish a private basic school and a multi-purpose facility that would include classrooms, a children/youth worship center, offices, and a residence. Furthermore, he committed to supporting up to five students annually with educational scholarships, and he called for the support of church leadership and congregants to realize these plans.

During the induction ceremony, Rev. Col. Adoteye-Asare, Chairman of the PCG Ga Presbytery, encouraged Rev. Dr. Nartey to focus on guiding the spiritual growth of congregants by delivering God's messages rather than personal opinions. He lauded the Kutunse district members for their efforts in expanding the number of congregations and preaching points in the area to 13.

In his sermon, Rev. Col. Adoteye-Asare emphasized the importance of parental responsibility in nurturing children, reminding parents that they would be held accountable for their stewardship. He highlighted the value Jesus places on children and the significant role parents play in their upbringing.
