Tarkwa: Mr Fiifi Boafo, a former Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), has called on parents and teachers to provide holistic education for their children to awaken their curiosity, foster resilience, and promote values that bind society. He emphasized the importance of investing in the educational needs of young people beyond merely passing examinations to create an environment that nurtures their talents for future success.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Boafo made these remarks at the Fifth Graduation and Prize Giving Day of Starhill International School in Tarkwa, where he participated as a special guest. He highlighted the necessity for children to learn not only academics but also essential life skills, empathy, and the importance of giving back to society, asserting that they must understand the significance of being responsible citizens. He praised institutions like Starhill International School for playing a crucial role in providing such comprehensive education.
Mr Boafo
noted that Starhill has been instrumental in laying the foundation for nurturing scholars, innovators, and leaders who will positively contribute to their communities and the country. Reflecting on the past five years, he acknowledged the school’s commitment to excellence, the holistic development of each child, and the promotion of creativity and critical thinking among students. These attributes, he said, are invaluable in equipping children for the realities of the world they will face.
He urged the administration, teachers, and parents of Starhill to continue striving for excellence, highlighting that their commitment to developing the children is vital in addressing the complex challenges of the world. Mr Boafo also congratulated the graduates on their achievements, encouraging them to carry their momentum forward, emphasizing their critical roles in creating a ripple effect that extends beyond their immediate environments.
Additionally, Nana Kwame Yeboah, the Director of Starhill International School,
called for support from stakeholders to continue providing quality education for the people of Tarkwa and beyond. He assured that the management remains dedicated to working hard to achieve the school’s objectives, as demonstrated over the past years.
