Owusu-Ekuful’s Vehicle Recovered; 17 More Arrested in Post-Election Incidents

ACCRA: A stolen Nissan pickup belonging to Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has been successfully recovered by police, and 17 additional arrests have been made in connection to recent post-election disturbances. The vehicle, taken from Mrs. Owusu-Ekuful's office last Monday, was retrieved through an intelligence-led operation and is now under the custody of the Dansoman Police.According to Ghana News Agency, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director of Public Affairs, provided an update to the media in Accra, stating that efforts are ongoing to apprehend those responsible for the theft. In addition to the vehicle recovery, ACP Ansah-Akrofi announced the arrest of 17 more suspects linked to post-election disturbances, bringing the total number of arrests to 123.The police are actively pursuing individuals involved in the recent vandalism of police stations in Techiman and Wenchi, located in the Bono East and Bono regions, respectively. ACP Ansah-Akrofi issued a stern warning to those evad ing capture, emphasizing that the authorities will persist in their efforts to bring them to justice.She reassured government agencies and their employees of their safety, urging them to continue their duties without fear, and pledged that the Police would intensify nationwide patrols and operations to ensure peace and stability.
