Nene Ongmle Teye Adjidah Botuako (V) has been enthroned as the new Paramount Chief of Osudoku Traditional Area during a grand coronation at Osuwem in the Shai Osudoku district of the Greater Accra Region.In the presence of a large crowd of divisional chiefs and traditional rulers, he swore the oath of allegiance to the Ablao High Priest of Osudoku. Known in private as Mr Teye Chai, he's an information technology professional who works with the Electricity Company of Ghana. He succeeded the late Nene Kwasi Animle Vi, who died several years ago.Nene Botuako (V)informed the traditional rulers and the populace that he would not lord his position over his subjects but would serve them to bring about development in the area and urged everyone to work together to further the development and progress of the Osudoku Traditional Area. Nene Botuako (V) noted that kingship now focused on development and networking rather than wars, conquests, and animosity. He said, 'We need to join hands as elders to make di scipline a part of our young ones so that the values of resort, hard work, honesty, and dedication will be instilled and shown in them to sustain the culture and values of our tradition.' He said he would work with the Shai-Osudoku District Assembly, skills development centres, non-governmental organisations, foreign companies, and other institutions to create job opportunities for the youth. Nene Ogbe Asumeng lV, Divisional Chief of Gbese-Terkworsi, pledged his unwavering support to the new chief to help overcome some developmental challenges in the area. 'I am confident that this newly enstooled chief will transform the face of Osudoku by helping to address our concerns, which include a bad road network, jobs for youngsters, and other issues,' he said. He stated that the government was aware of the country's economic issues and was doing everything it could to solve them to improve people's lives.Source: Ghana News Agency
