Nkwanta North Parliamentary Candidates Share Visions at NCCE Parliamentary Dialogue.

Nkwanta North: Parliamentary candidates from various political parties have shared their visions with the electorate of Nkwanta North in the Oti Region during the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) Parliamentary Dialogue. The candidates included Benjamin Nador from the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Oduro Aikens Kofi Yeboah from the Movement for Change, and Gabriel Donkor from the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG). However, Bless John Oti from the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who is also the incumbent Member of Parliament for Nkwanta North, did not attend the program.According to Ghana News Agency, the engagement was designed to provide a platform for the candidates to share their visions, engage with constituents, and promote issues-based campaigning. It also aimed to raise awareness about tolerance and peace before, during, and after the elections. The candidates were asked questions by a moderator on topics such as education, employment, health, roads, and the economy, based on research titled 'Matters of Concern to the Ghanaian Voter' conducted by the NCCE.Speaking at the event, Robert Kwesi Boame, the Oti Regional Director of the NCCE, explained that the research informs issues-based political campaigns and voter education. The findings serve as the foundation for the Commission's Parliamentary Candidates' Dialogue in all constituencies across the country. He emphasized that the dialogue was not intended to determine winners or losers but served as a platform for the candidates. The Regional Director urged the electorate to maintain peace in the country by avoiding violence before, during, and after the December 7 polls. Fuseini Nurudeen, the Nkwanta North NCCE District Director, also encouraged the electorate to prioritize peace, highlighting Ghana's ranking as the second most peaceful country in Sub-Saharan Africa.During the dialogue, NPP candidate Benjamin Nador pledged to improve the road network in the constituency, noting that work had already commenced through the District Roads Impro vement Project (DRIP). Movement for Change candidate Kofi Yeboah promised to offer an incentive package for teachers in deprived communities if elected as MP. LPG candidate Gabriel Donkor committed to providing agricultural inputs such as fertilizer and weedicide to farmers, especially young farmers, to draw more youth into farming.
