Nkrumah’s Collapsed Industries Must Be Part of Resetting Agenda – Apostle Okoh Agyemang

Accra: The Living Yahweh 7th Day Sabbath Assemblies recently concluded its 2025 edition of the Atonement Feast and Charity Show with a significant call to the government. Apostle Philemon Okoh Agyemang, the Founder and Leader of the church, urged the government to annually revive one of the late President Kwame Nkrumah's collapsed industries as a part of the national resetting agenda. He emphasized that such an initiative would not only create job opportunities but also serve as a tribute to the late president.

According to Ghana News Agency, Apostle Okoh Agyemang suggested that if Ghanaians truly honor Dr. Nkrumah, they should celebrate his birthday by revitalizing one of his defunct industries rather than just observing it as a ceremonial day. He also recommended that charity shows be organized alongside the Founders Day celebrations to provide hope to the less privileged.

The five-day event, themed 'But as for you, you meant evil against me, but Elohim Yahweh intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done; the saving of many lives (Genesis 50:20),' took place at the Odorgonno Senior High School in the Ga Central Municipality of the Greater Accra Region. The church extended material support worth ?1,232,450.00 to over 4,500 disadvantaged individuals and institutions.

Donations included 4,500 textile clothes, 1,000 tubers of yams, 50 wheelchairs, 2,000 packs of toilet rolls, 20 pieces of crutches and walking aids, 100 pieces of white canes, 100 bags of gari, and assorted sizes of diapers. Additional items were cartons of toothpaste, bulk packs of toothbrushes, 100 cartons of milk, 80 cartons of milo, assorted mineral drinks, 100 boxes of key soap bars, 100 bags of tom brown, 50 cartons of milk powder, and 100 bags of washing detergents.

The charity also provided 200 packs of sanitary pads, assorted slippers and shoes, 50 bales of second-hand clothing, 300 bags of rice from the church's farms, 300 bags of foreign rice, 300 bags of maize from the church's farms, 500 crates of eggs from the church's farms, and 800 birds from the church's farms.

Mr. Julius Debrah, the Chief of Staff, who attended the event, praised the church for its spiritual and material contributions to society. He assured that Apostle Agyemang's proposals would be communicated to the President for consideration. Mr. Debrah commended the church's agricultural efforts, supporting the notion that combining faith with work leads to success.

He noted the importance of self-sufficiency, highlighting the significant amount spent on importing chicken in 2023. He lauded Apostle Agyemang for aligning with the President's initiatives and encouraged Ghanaians to follow the church leader's example to further national development.

For nearly 25 years, the church has been generous to widows, orphans, visually and physically challenged individuals, accident victims, and institutions like the prisons service and hospitals, aligning with the goals of the charity show.
