NGO Donates Learning Materials and Desks to Zanlerigu Schools.

Zanlerigu: The Nongzoya Foundation, a non-profit organisation based in Norway, has made its 18th donation of school items to the Zanlerigu cluster of schools in the Nabdam District of the Upper East Region as part of its commitment to improving education in the area. The items included over 2,000 exercise books, 40 dual desks, laptop furniture, whiteboard markers, school uniforms, school bags, and sports equipment.According to Ghana News Agency, the donation marked another milestone in the foundation's commitment over the years to lifting the financial burden on parents and improving academic activities in the Zanlerigu kindergarten, primary, and junior high schools. Mr David Assibi Nagbila, the Local Coordinator of the Foundation, presenting the items on behalf of Mrs Marienne Toft Adonaba, the Chief Executive Officer, emphasised that the donated items aimed at enhancing the learning environment for students and supporting teachers in their efforts to deliver quality education.He highlighted the Foundati on's concerns about the persistent poor performance of students, particularly in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), stressing the importance of both teachers' dedication and students' commitment to their studies. Mr Nagbila also urged parents to play a more active role in encouraging their children to study at home, noting the distractions posed by excessive use of social media platforms like WhatsApp and Facebook.Mr Robert Atia, a Member of the School Management Committee (SMC), appealed to parents to fulfill their responsibilities by ensuring their wards focus on academics. In addition, Mr Isaac Wulug, the Assembly member of the Zanlerigu Dagliga Electoral, expressed gratitude to the Foundation for its continuous support, stating that the donated items would positively impact academic performance in the future.The annual donation by the Nongzoya Foundation has become instrumental in fostering educational development in the community and is regarded as a beacon of hope for the students o f Zanlerigu.
