Next Generation Urged to Prepare for Future Leadership and Service

Accra: Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, the General Secretary of the Church of Pentecost (COP), has called on the next generation to position themselves for effective nurturing to assume future leadership and service roles. He emphasized the importance of learning from mentors and pursuing personal development with dedication.

According to Ghana News Agency, Apostle Obuobi made these remarks at the media launch of the National All Leavers Summit (NALS) 2025 in Accra. The event, organized by the Schools Outreach Ministry of the Church, Scripture Union (SU) Ghana, and the Pent Media Centre (PMC), is set for September 20, 2025. It will convene final-year students nationwide under the theme: 'Focusing, Guiding and Nurturing the Next Generation Today.'

Apostle Obuobi highlighted the summit's theme as a reminder of the intentional efforts needed to mentor young individuals for future responsibilities. He stressed that investing in the next generation requires time, resources, and commitment, with leadership focusing on serving and inspiring others. He underscored the collective effort needed from parents, elders, communities, and the church to nurture youth.

Apostle Prof. Joseph Teye Buertey, Chairman of the Schools Outreach Ministry Committee, spoke about the ministry's goal to promote holistic discipleship and development rooted in kingdom values. He advised students to guide their actions with integrity and empathy and to care for their mental health as they transition to new life phases.

Mr. Fred Tettey Amoako, Head of Publications at the PMC, remarked that education should shape character, vision, and courage, beyond just accumulating facts. He noted that the summit aims to prepare students for life beyond exams, encouraging them to live with faith, character, and purpose.
