Kan notes that, according to the latest assessments in Israel, Tehran is determined to launch an attack. The situation in the Middle East has sharply worsened after the assassination in Tehran of the head of the political bureau of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas, Ismaïl Haniyeh, and the elimination in Beirut of one of the commanders of the military branch of the Shiite movement Hezbollah, Fouad Chokr.
