ACCRA: The National Elections Security TaskForce (NESTF) has intensified security around the collation of election results from four outstanding constituencies in Ghana's Eastern Region. The process has been relocated to the Detective Training Academy at the Police Training School in Tesano, Accra, to ensure the safety and integrity of the proceedings.According to Ghana News Agency, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Richmond Mensah addressed the media on Thursday, confirming that comprehensive security measures involving both police and military personnel have been implemented. This move is in response to the gatherings of political party supporters at the training school's entrance, where slogans are being chanted. Security forces have been successful in maintaining order at the site.The collation for one constituency has been completed without incident, while efforts continue for the remaining three. ASP Mensah stated that similar security protocols are being deployed in the Ashanti and Bono East regions, where results are also pending. The police are currently awaiting the Electoral Commission's confirmation on the dates for these activities.ASP Mensah reassured the public that adequate security arrangements are in place to allow Electoral Commission officials to perform their duties without any disruptions.
