Akwidaa: The head office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), in collaboration with its municipal office in Ahanta West, has organised a movie night in Akwidaa, a suburb of Ahanta West, to educate the public on the effects of electoral violence.According to Ghana News Agency, the movie depicted the impacts and struggles of violence during elections in other African countries. It highlighted needless deaths and severe injuries that occur during such chaotic situations. Mr. Clifford Thompson, the Director of Media at the NCCE headquarters, urged the people of Akwidaa to avoid being used as tools to disrupt the peace and stability of the country.He further emphasized that the incidents in other countries should serve as a reminder of how detrimental behaviors and actions during the upcoming elections could be, potentially affecting the lives of both young and old. Mrs. Faustina Koranteng, the Municipal Director of NCCE in Ahanta West, stressed that the upcoming elections are not meant to be bloody or violent. She remarked on the necessity for citizens to prepare themselves effectively against potential threats as part of their civic duty.
