NCCE Hosts Parliamentary Dialogue for Election Candidates in Odumase-Krobo.

Odumase-Krobo: The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has facilitated a parliamentary dialogue for prospective candidates in Odumase-Krobo within the Lower Manya Constituency. This event provided a platform for candidates to present their programs and proposals to the electorate.According to Ghana News Agency, the debate was organized in collaboration with the Inter-Party Dialogue Committee (IPDC). It featured candidates from the two major political parties: Mr. Simon Kweku Tetteh of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the incumbent, Mr. Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Mr. Terlabi, although absent, was recognized by the moderators for his contributions in areas such as education, infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, and employment.Mr. Tetteh, representing the NPP, outlined his vision for the constituency. He highlighted his role in facilitating the construction of educational infrastructure and proposed initiatives for scholarships, teacher awards, and res ource distribution for schools. He also pledged to transform local government hospitals, support nursing students, and provide health screenings and facilities.For infrastructure, Mr. Tetteh plans to collaborate with the Ministry of Roads and Highways to improve road conditions and enhance feeder roads with DRIP equipment. His employment strategy includes securing jobs for graduates and supporting apprenticeships with startup resources. Additionally, he aims to promote mechanized farming to engage the youth in agriculture and reduce poverty.Mr. Livingstone Ansah, NCCE Director for Lower Manya Krobo Municipal, emphasized the purpose of the debate as a platform for candidates to share their plans. He urged political and religious tolerance and encouraged candidates to avoid derogatory language to ensure a peaceful election period.
