NCCE Engages West Mamprusi Youth on Political Tolerance.

West Mamprusi: The West Mamprusi Municipal Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has organized an engagement session with political party youth activists in the area, focusing on fostering tolerance as part of its Preventing and Containing Violent Extremism project. The initiative aims to enhance the youth's understanding of peaceful coexistence, tolerance, and non-violence.According to Ghana News Agency, the interaction covered critical topics including the youth's role in promoting peace, peaceful coexistence, inter-faith tolerance, and strategies to identify and counter misinformation and disinformation. Mr. Imoro Issahaku Thomas, the West Mamprusi Municipal Director of NCCE, addressed the participants, urging them to become ambassadors of peace and to promote peaceful dialogue in their communities. He emphasized the importance of avoiding inflammatory language during political rallies and encouraged the youth to verify information before sharing it to prevent the spread of mi sinformation.Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mr. Seth Akuamoah Agyekum, the West Mamprusi Municipal Police Commander, also participated as a resource person. He reminded the youth of the value of peace, warning that any outbreak of conflict would leave them with no safe haven. Meanwhile, Mr. Fataw Sulemanan Nantomah from the Asiribisi Development Initiative, a local NGO, advised the youth to seek independence from political influence by pursuing alternative livelihoods and not relying excessively on politicians for personal advancement.
