NCCE Engages Political Party Youth Activists in Tamale on Peaceful Elections.

Tamale: The Tamale Metropolitan Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has engaged youth activists of political parties in the area to foster peace amongst them as the country approaches this year's elections. The engagement was part of NCCE's commitment to preserving peace in the area and preventing violent extremist tendencies in the country, especially during the election period.According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Tahiru Imoro, Tamale Metropolitan Director of NCCE, speaking during the event in Tamale, expressed the need for community members to prioritize dialogue in settling their disputes and grievances. He also highlighted the importance of cooperation with stakeholders, including security agencies, to promote sustainable peace.Mr. Imoro emphasized the crucial role of the youth in ensuring peace before, during, and after the elections and urged them to refrain from activities that could trigger violence and conflict. Mr. Mutala Mohammed, Member of Parliament for Tamale Ce ntral Constituency, who participated in the event, also stressed the importance of peaceful coexistence, tolerance, and stability to the socio-economic development of the area.He noted that meaningful development in the country could not be achieved amidst violence and unrest, and he challenged the youth to become advocates for peace. Mr. Mohammed expressed his willingness to embrace the outcome of the 2024 elections and urged key stakeholders, including the Electoral Commission, to ensure that they deliver on their mandate of supervising free, fair, and credible elections.
