Abuakwa: More Ghanaian youth are going to receive digital skills training as part of efforts to boost employment opportunities for the youth in the digital economy space. Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP flag-bearer for the 2024 elections, announced that about 5,000 youth from the Atwima Nwabiagya South constituency would benefit from this digital skills training programme.
According to Ghana News Agency, Dr Bawumia, while addressing a mini rally at Abuakwa as part of his campaign tour of the constituency, stated that the objective was to equip the youth with skills and expertise that would create employment opportunities for them in the digital and technological space, thereby improving their living conditions. Dr Bawumia, reflecting on his tenure as Vice President of Ghana, mentioned his contributions in supporting the President to develop and implement approximately 33 new policies and projects, which have helped to position the country firmly on the digital and technological highway.
He emphasized the impor
tance of leveraging technology to transform Ghana’s economy, highlighting his vision to use technology to promote inclusivity in governance, economy, education, health, and other human activities. Dr Bawumia believes this approach is the most assured way for Ghana to be part of the fourth industrial revolution. He encouraged the people in the area to vote for the NPP, enabling the continuation of various intervention programmes that are aimed at improving the lives of the populace.
Madam Shirley Tiwaa Kyei, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for the area, expressed gratitude to the supporters for their robust support of Dr Bawumia. She urged them to translate their enthusiasm into votes, maintaining their historical unwavering support for the party. Madam Kyei underscored the need for Ghanaians to trust Dr Bawumia, citing his visionary, unifying, humble, and competent leadership qualities, which she believes are essential for implementing initiatives beneficial to all Ghanaians.
