Young People Urged to Embrace Discipline and Morality

Accra: Pastor Frank Mensah Tandoh, the National Coordinator, School's Outreach Ministry (SOM) of the Church of Pentecost (COP), has urged young people across Ghana to embrace discipline, morality, and faith as they transition into new phases of life. He emphasized that these values are essential for staying focused, making future-building choices, and upholding honesty, respect, and integrity which are crucial for personal growth and societal development.

According to Ghana News Agency, Pastor Tandoh spoke at the National All Leavers Summit (NALS) 2025 in Accra, themed 'Focusing, Guiding, and Nurturing the Next Generation Today.' The event, organized by the SOM of the COP, the Scripture Union (SU), and the Pent Media Centre (PMC), took place simultaneously in over 130 centers nationwide. The summit aims to provide a positive platform for graduates of the West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination and the Basic Education Certificate Examination to celebrate their academic achievements while preparing for future challenges.

Pastor Tandoh highlighted that the initiative, which began last year, is becoming a permanent fixture in SOM's calendar, focusing on praising, praying for, and empowering the young generation. He noted that the foundations of education, previously built on strong morality and principles, are weakening due to widespread indiscipline among youth. He called for a deliberate effort to reintroduce morality, principles, and faith into the educational system.

Through the summit, students were connected to discipleship groups in schools and fellowships such as SU and PENSA, ensuring continuous spiritual and moral development. This approach, he said, helps young people build kingdom principles and values that support nation-building. Pastor Tandoh urged the youth to regard life as a one-time opportunity and to prepare themselves adequately for future challenges, using NALS as a platform for preparation.

Rev. Dr. Felix Klutse, the Director of PMC, emphasized that education should not only focus on imparting knowledge but also on shaping character and vision. He reminded the youth that their lives are part of God's divine plan, urging them to be 'heavenly conscious and earthly relevant' as they move into new life phases. Dr. Klutse explained that living as an ambassador of heaven involves pleasing God and making a meaningful impact on earth. He warned the youth against wasting their formative years, as the devil works tirelessly to lead them into destructive lifestyles.
