Mobile Web Ghana Endorses Hamburg Declaration on Responsible AI for SDGs

Accra: Mobile Web Ghana, a technology and entrepreneurship hub, alongside 40 global organisations including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), GIZ, KfW, and Smart Africa, has endorsed the Hamburg Declaration on Responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These organisations have joined a coalition of international development agencies, innovation hubs, civil society groups, and tech leaders during the launch at the Hamburg Sustainability Conference.

According to Ghana News Agency, the conference gathered governments, civil society, academia, and private sector leaders globally to align digital innovation, particularly AI, with the objectives of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Madam Florence Toffa, Director of Mobile Web Ghana, attended the conference and played a role in shaping and endorsing the Declaration, emphasizing Mobile Web Ghana's involvement in the international discourse on responsible AI.

Madam Toffa's participation underscored Mobile Web Ghana's dedication to ensuring African voices, especially those advocating for youth and women, are represented in the global digital policy landscape. In line with the Hamburg Declaration and the SDGs, she expressed a commitment to creating AI learning hubs in schools to empower young leaders, particularly women, to develop AI-driven solutions to real-world challenges.

She also extended an invitation for collaboration and partnership to organisations, institutions, and individuals dedicated to advancing responsible AI, youth empowerment, and inclusive digital development in Africa. The Hamburg Declaration stands as a commitment to inclusive, responsible, and human-centred AI, focusing on equitable data access, human rights protections, digital inclusion, climate-conscious AI infrastructure, and cross-border collaboration.

Mobile Web Ghana, founded in 2010, has focused on creating innovative projects that empower youth and organisations to utilize technological and open data solutions to tackle local issues.
