NKWANTA SOUTH: In a gesture aimed at honoring and celebrating the contributions of senior citizens, Deputy Superintendent of Prison (DSP) Mr. Daniel Machator (Rtd), who is the Oti Regional Minister, hosted over 400 elderly individuals in the Nkwanta South Municipality on New Year's Day. This event sought to promote harmony and unity within the community, particularly in the aftermath of recent tribal conflicts that have affected the region's progress.

As part of the celebration, Mr. Machator acknowledged several individuals who had a profound impact on his life, notably honoring his class 3 teacher, Madam Cecilia Addae Mensah.
The Minister presented awards to these individuals, which included 32-inch televisions and hampers, as tokens of appreciation for their contributions to education and community development. Attendees expressed their gratitude for the Minister's initiative, viewing it as a step toward fostering unity and peace in the area.
However, residents also voiced concerns about increasing crime and violence within the municipality. They appealed to local leaders to prioritize enhancing security measures to restore Nkwanta South to its previous status as a vibrant and peaceful community.
