Accra: Mr Ignasius Baffour Awuah has commissioned a newly built state-of-the-art office complex for the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission. The four-story facility, constructed by First Beacon Architectural Limited, includes a boardroom office, a director's office, a negotiation office, and an ICT office, among other features. The move to the new building was necessitated as the previous facility's owners required their property back.According to Ghana News Agency, the Minister highlighted that the new facility embodies President Akufo-Addo's vision of providing a suitable office environment for the Commission to enhance service delivery. The government aims to create conducive working environments for all workers to boost productivity. The Minister expressed confidence that the new edifice would enable staff to work more efficiently and effectively. He praised the Commission's management for their role in ensuring the building's successful completion.Mr Baffour emphasized the importance of high service q uality, stating that an impressive building means little without excellent service. He urged staff to demonstrate the value of the state's investment in the facility. Additionally, he revealed that the government had donated 16 pickup vehicles to the Labour Department and commissioned 16 Public Employment Centres. A new office building for the Ministry, situated opposite the Accra Sports Stadium, has also been completed.The Minister encouraged the Commission's management to cultivate a strong maintenance culture and allocate funds for the building's upkeep. Mr Benjamin Arthur, the Chief Executive of FWSC, expressed gratitude for the Minister's leadership in completing the project. He acknowledged the Commission's fortune in acquiring the new facility and committed to its maintenance to earn the trust of authorities and the public.Reverend Richmond Okrah, the contractor from First Beacon Architectural Limited, disclosed that the building cost GHC 9 million and took nearly two years to complete.
