Dr James Klutse Avedzi, the Member of Parliament for Ketu North has urged all constituents within Keta in the Volta Region to vote massively for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for progressive development.He said this would be the only option for Ghanaians to stop the untoward hardship they faced.Dr Avedzi made the appeal during a campaign launch by the Keta outfit of the party at Abor, where he urged all to rally behind the NDC to recapture power in the best interest of the country.'We must accomplish what we are fighting for, and it is our work to now teach the voters how to locate the umbrella and vote for Mr John Mahama and our parliamentary candidates to win the elections,' he stated.Dr Avedzi, who is also Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament, stated that the unprecedented borrowing under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government had put the nation in a debt of about Gh? 800 billion from Gh? 120 billion of former Presidents John Kufuor, the late Prof. Atta Mills and Mr Jo hn Dramani Mahama's time.Dr Avedzi, who is not contesting in the upcoming elections, appealed to the public to vote massively for the NDC.Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu and Chairman of the Assurance Committee in Parliament, urged all eligible voters to give 95 per cent of their votes to the NDC.'I am urging all of you that the campaign has already started, and we must carry our good messages to the markets, farms, churches, mosques, schools, and everywhere for NDC to regain power,' he said.Mr Peter Nortu Kotoe, the MP for Akatsi North and a Ranking Member on Education in Parliament, who took part in the launch, said the upcoming election would be crucial so all should get involved to bring the NDC back to power.He described Mr Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpe as a competent, dedicated, and ready-to-serve member of Parliament who should be given a second chance to bring more development projects to the area.Mr Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpe, the MP for Keta, who is seeking a secon d term, would contest with other candidates including Mr Goldberg-Grimm Hope Courage Lekettey of the NPP, Mr Yayra Kwashie Kwaku of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), and Mr Stanley Dugah, an independent candidate.Source: Ghana News Agency
