Accra: The Rastafari Council of Ghana has expressed its condolences to President John Dramani Mahama, the families of the deceased, and the entire nation following the tragic helicopter crash that resulted in the loss of eight lives, including two prominent ministers.
According to Ghana News Agency, a statement from the Council, signed by its President Ahuma Bosco Ocansey, emphasized the profound impact of the loss on the nation. The deceased, who included Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Defence, and Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, were traveling to Obuasi on August 6, 2025, when their GAF Z9 helicopter crashed.
The Council's statement acknowledged the collective mourning and urged the public to honor Ghanaian traditions by showing respect to the grieving families. It called for thorough investigations to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
