Ghanaian Student in Norway Donates Golf Balls to Support Kids Golf Development in Ghana.

Accra: Mr Stephen Obeng Jnr, a Ghanaian student residing in Norway, has generously donated over 1,200 practice golf balls to aid the Captain One Golf Society's initiative aimed at nurturing young golfers in Ghana. The Captain One Golf Society comprises both professional and amateur golfers dedicated to fostering the sport from the grassroots level.According to Ghana News Agency, this kids project collaborates with various golf clubs across the country to provide training opportunities for underprivileged and vulnerable children. In a media interview, Mr Obeng Jnr revealed that the practice balls were given to him by two acquaintances, Anders Rein and Mohammed Ali Golrang, after discussing the challenges faced in promoting golf in Ghana. Upon learning about the Captain One Golf Society through their online platforms, Mr Obeng Jnr decided to contribute to their mission by donating the balls.Mr Obeng Jnr expressed his desire to help make golf more accessible to less privileged children and encouraged them to focus on their education, engage in golf, and avoid trouble. Additionally, Alhaji Gali, known as Godfather, and Ahmed Padori from Akwaaba Golf UK contributed 500 practice balls to the project.Pius Ayeh Appiah, President and Founder of Captain One Golf Society, expressed gratitude to the donors and affirmed that the balls would be used effectively. He reported significant progress among the kids, noting that some have been formally assigned handicaps and integrated into the Royal Golf Club in Kumasi. Highlighting the achievements of Ayisha and Jennifer, Mr Appiah praised their coach, Yaw Barimah, for his efforts and expressed hope for further success stories.Mr Appiah also appealed to corporate entities, civil society organizations, and individuals to support the project, emphasizing the potential to inspire young, talented, yet needy golfers.
