Ghana Needs New Generation of Leaders for Future Prosperity: CNIR

Accra: The Center for National Interest and Research (CNIR) has emphasized the need for a new generation of leaders to secure Ghana's future, as the nation marks its 68th independence anniversary. The call was made amid concerns about the ongoing impact of extreme partisan politics, which has been characterized by divisiveness, excessive borrowing, and debilitating debt.

According to Ghana News Agency, a statement from CNIR noted that despite 68 years of independence, Ghana continues to grapple with these issues. The statement urged the populace, particularly the youth, to reflect on the state of the nation and the true meaning of freedom. Dr. Dzabaku Kudiabor Ocansey, the Executive Director of CNIR, highlighted the necessity for leaders who are solution-oriented, innovative, and committed to the well-being of all Ghanaians.

Dr. Ocansey pointed out the dangers posed by extreme partisan politics, which he believes is undermining freedom and threatening the nation's existence. He advocated for a shift in focus from individualism and partisan political affiliations towards prioritizing national interests. He emphasized the importance of prioritizing the needs of Ghana above individual and party interests.

Furthermore, Dr. Ocansey proposed the adoption of a hybrid democratic system that incorporates solution-oriented approaches and cognitive restructuring. This system should prioritize the needs of all Ghanaians, irrespective of their socio-economic background or political affiliation.

The CNIR statement called on all Ghanaians to engage in a national conversation regarding the state of freedom and the future of the nation, urging collective efforts to build a brighter future for Ghana.
