Kumasi: Ghana needs a firm and decisive leader who can harness the human and material resources to take full advantage of technology to drive the country's transformation agenda and benefit from the fourth industrial revolution. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the President of the Republic of Ghana, emphasized the importance of not missing out on the fourth industrial revolution, driven by technology and digitalization, given that Ghana had already missed the first three revolutions.According to Ghana News Agency, President Akufo-Addo addressed various professional groups in Kumasi as part of his three-day tour of the Ashanti region. He highlighted the need for Ghanaians to elect a leader capable of building on the achievements of his administration while bringing fresh ideas and a clear understanding of digitalization to transform the country's economy. He identified Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP Presidential Candidate, as possessing the necessary qualities to lead Ghana into the fourth industrial revolution.The meeting provided an opportunity for the President to express gratitude to members of professional associations and groups for their support during his presidency. He described Dr. Bawumia as a man of impeachable integrity with fresh ideas to transform the country and a clear understanding of what is required to propel Ghana into the fourth industrial revolution.President Akufo-Addo acknowledged the challenges faced by the country, which were not solely the government's making, and noted the significant progress made in turning the economy around. He emphasized the need for Ghana to elect a leader who could build and sustain these gains, warning against making mistakes in the upcoming December 07 election that could cause the country to backslide.He also highlighted advancements in educational infrastructure, health sector improvements, and enhancements in road networks and access to justice, underscoring the importance of sustaining these interventions to improve the lives of Ghanaians. The President called on Ghanaians to make a decisive choice on December 07 to ensure the continuation of social interventions like the free SHS policy, which has benefitted over 5.7 million citizens.President Akufo-Addo expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve as President and urged Ghanaians to make decisions that would protect the social interventions benefiting many across the country.
