The Ghana Hotels Association (GHA) refuted issuing a purported press release dated August 26, 2024, which allegedly called for clarification from former President John Mahama on the 24-hour economy policy.The Association said the press release did not originate from their organization and had condemned the dissemination of misleading information.In a statement issued on behalf of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the GHA and copied to Ghana News Agency, Dr Edward Ackah-Nyamike Jnr., President of the Association, emphasized that the GHA did not issue the press release in question.'Our attention has been drawn to a purported press release dated August 26, 2024, allegedly issued bythe Ghana Hotels Association. On behalf of the NEC, we wish to state unequivocally that this press release did not originate from our outfit,' Dr. Ackah-Nyamike clarified.Dr Ackah-Nyamike maintained that the Ghana Hotels Association had direct and official communication channels with all political parties to seek clari fications about their manifestos and policies.'We engage with political parties through formal and direct communication, not through unauthorized or misleading press releases,' he added.Dr Ackah-Nyamike further advised against the actions of individuals or entities spreading false information that could potentially stir unnecessary tension between trade associations and political parties.'We urge those behind such malicious publications to desist from these unpatriotic behaviours that have no place in our democratic process,' he said.The GHA reaffirmed its commitment to remaining apolitical, focusing solely on advocating for a favourable economic and business environment for the hotel industry.'The Ghana Hotels Association is dedicated to promoting an enabling environment for hotels to thrive and is not aligned with any political party or agenda,' Dr. Ackah-Nyamike concluded.He reiterated that the Ghana Hotels Association continued to stand by its core mission of supporting the hotel industry and fostering an environment conducive to its growth, free from political entanglements and misinformation.Source: Ghana News Agency
