Ghana Gas Company Reaffirms Commitment to Productivity and Governance

Accra: Mr Kofi Totobi Quakyi, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ghana Gas, has reaffirmed the company's renewed commitment towards productivity, accountability, and integrity. These three guiding principles are shaping a new era of transformation and sustainable growth, as he addressed the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Company.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Quakyi described 2024 as a defining year, marked by both strong operational performance and valuable governance lessons. He reported that Ghana Gas exceeded its revenue targets and achieved major milestones, including the acquisition of the Ghana Cylinder Manufacturing Company, supporting Ghana's energy transition, completing a 3.8km pipeline extension to the Tema Free Zones enclave, and a landmark Gas Sales Agreement with a Limited company for Ghana's first Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) project. Additionally, there has been steady progress on the Gas Processing Plant II (GPP II).

The Chairman also addressed governance and compliance issues, highlighting the 2024 audit report and emphasizing the need for discipline, transparency, and reforms. "Highlighting these issues is not about assigning blames, it is about drawing lessons and applying them with greater discipline as we move forward," he stated.

Mr Quakyi expressed optimism about Ghana Gas's future, emphasizing that the lessons of 2024 had laid a strong foundation for reforms and growth. He stated that the company is now poised to become not only a reliable processor and supplier of natural gas, but also a benchmark for good corporate governance and impact-driven development.
