Accra: Eston IT College has been established to provide specialized training in various technology fields to address the growing demand for skilled tech professionals in Ghana and combat youth unemployment. The college, located at the FAACO Complex in Tesano, Accra, is set to begin its inaugural academic year in September, offering intensive programmes in cybersecurity, networking, software development, and system administration.According to Ghana News Agency, the founder and director, Mr. Alexander Nketiah, stated that the institution's primary goal is to bridge the skills gap often found in the Ghanaian tech industry, where many graduates lacked the practical, hands-on experience that employers required. "In a world where digital skills are the new passport to prosperity, we're ensuring that Ghanaian youth are not just prepared to compete-they're positioned to dominate," Mr. Nketiah said."Our mission transcends training; we're engineering a generation of digital warriors who will make 'Made in Ghana' sy nonymous with tech excellence," he added. The college's curriculum is anchored by prestigious global certifications from major tech companies such as Microsoft, Cisco, and CompTIA.Mr. Nketiah also emphasized that the college's facilities are designed to mirror real-world corporate environments, featuring state-of-the-art simulation labs where students can work with enterprise systems, configure live networks, and respond to simulated security threats. The institution plans to foster an ecosystem for student success by providing mentorship from experienced tech executives and building partnerships with leading tech companies to facilitate job placements for its graduates.By creating a pipeline of world-class tech talent, Eston IT College aims to contribute to Ghana's position as a burgeoning tech hub in Africa, attracting foreign investment and stimulating an innovation-driven economy.
