ECG Assures KATH of Stable Power Supply to Enhance Healthcare

Kumasi: The Ashanti West Region of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has assured the management of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) of a stable power supply to enhance quality healthcare delivery. Mr. George Amoah, the General Manager of the Ashanti West Region of ECG, emphasized the importance of providing consistent electricity to the hospital, which serves as a critical healthcare provider for many in the region.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Amoah made these remarks during a meeting where Dr. Paa Kwasi Baidoo, the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KATH, was introduced to the ECG management in the Ashanti West Region. He highlighted the hospital's role as a key stakeholder in delivering essential services to millions, underscoring ECG's commitment to ensuring a reliable power supply to KATH. "Komfo Anokye is one of the key stakeholders that renders essential services to millions of people, hence, our unwavering commitment to ensuring stable power supply to the hospital," Mr. Amoah stated.

He further noted that providing uninterrupted power is crucial as ECG is mandated to support the hospital's operations. This initiative aligns with ECG's broader mission to deliver quality, reliable, and safe electricity services that contribute to the socioeconomic development of Ghana.

Dr. Paa Kwasi Baidoo expressed appreciation for the ECG's efforts in improving power supply to KATH and consistently prioritizing the hospital's electricity needs, especially during challenges with the national grid. As one of the four teaching hospitals in Ghana, KATH also functions as a referral center for 10 out of the country's 16 regions, making stable power supply essential for its operations.
