Accra: The Design and Technology Institute (DTI), in collaboration with the Mastercard Foundation and the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), is set to host the 5th Annual National Precision Quality Conference in Accra. This pivotal event in Ghana's development agenda is scheduled for September 18, 2025, and aims to spotlight the crucial role of human capital investment in driving economic growth.

According to Ghana News Agency, the conference will delve into the theme 'Investing in Human Capital as a Powerful Driver of Economic Growth.' The event is designed to initiate a vital national conversation on aligning education, skills training, and workforce readiness with Ghana's economic aspirations. Attendees will include policymakers, academia, private and informal sectors, public institutions, and research bodies, all of whom will collaborate to create a framework for actionable policy recommendations and practical steps.

A key highlight of the conference will be the presentation of a baseline study on human capital in Ghana, commissioned by DTI and NDPC. The findings from this research are expected to guide the development of national policies and strategies for human capital development. Ms. Constance Swaniker, Founder and President of DTI, emphasized the importance of prioritizing human capital in Ghana's economic transformation, stating that the conference will serve as a platform for stakeholders to develop a tangible framework aligning skills development with the national growth agenda.

The conference will also feature addresses by Dr. Abdul-Rashid Pelpuo, Minister of Labour, Jobs and Employment, and Mr. George Opare Addo, Minister of Youth Development and Empowerment. Dr. Audrey Smock Amoah, the Acting Director-General of NDPC, will discuss the transformation of Ghana's human capital in preparation for future work environments.

In addition, academic insights will be provided by Dr. Ebo Duncan, Prof. Pupulampu, Professor William Baah-Boateng, and Prof. Alex Dodoo, who will share their perspectives based on the baseline research. Policy direction will be outlined by Dr. Nii Moi Thompson, Chairman of the NDPC and Senior Advisor to the President on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The conference will also feature discussions on human capital development in the informal sector, with contributions from speakers like Cynthia Naa Komley Adjetey and Ebenezer Owu-Ewie.

DTI and its partners are committed to ensuring that the discussions translate into actionable outcomes, contributing to the vision of building a skilled, innovative, and prosperous Ghana.
