Bulgaria: Mr. Charles Osei Asibey, President of the Ghana Armwrestling Federation, has been re-elected as Vice President and Board Member of the World Armwrestling Federation (WAF) for the second time at an elective congress held in Bulgaria.According to Ghana News Agency, the sports administrator, who also serves as President of the Africa Armwrestling Federation, will continue in his role for the next four years. His re-election is attributed to the substantial growth of armwrestling across Africa and his significant contributions to the development of the sport's global governing body.In his acceptance speech, Mr. Asibey expressed gratitude to the delegates for their continued trust and reaffirmed his dedication to promoting armwrestling on the global stage. He emphasized the importance of growing the sport and positioning it as a leading discipline worldwide.Mr. Asibey is also a seasoned broadcast journalist with over 25 years of experience, having worked with various media outlets, including Radio Gold, Groove FM (now Adom FM), Peace FM, Happy FM, Radio 360, and Asempa FM. Additionally, he has contributed to publications like Graphic Sports and Ghanaweb. Beyond his media career, he holds significant positions as the General Secretary of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana, Communications Director of the Ghana Olympic Committee, and has served on the boards of several sports federations.
