Ambassador Dr. Erieka Bennett, Head of Mission, DAF, in a statement, conveyed 'heartfelt thoughts and prayers' to the nation during what it described as a painful moment of collective loss.
According to Ghana News Agency, the crash, which occurred on August 6, claimed the lives of two cabinet ministers and six other senior public officials while they were on official duty. The incident has plunged the nation into mourning, prompting a wave of condolence messages from political leaders, religious bodies, diplomatic missions, and civil society groups.
Ambassador Bennett described the victims as 'great patriots' who dedicated their service to Ghana and the continent, noting that their passing was a loss not only to their immediate institutions but to the broader African community.
