Danone Becomes Official Partner of TotalEnergies AFCON and WAFCON in Morocco

Accra: Danone, the parent company of FanMilk Ghana, has become an Official Partner of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, 2025, as well as the TotalEnergies CAF Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, 2024. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and Danone have signed an agreement marking this significant partnership.

According to Ghana News Agency, this collaboration underscores Danone's and FanMilk's dedication to promoting health through food across Africa, where sports and nutrition play crucial roles. A statement from Accra, signed by Mr. Kenneth Aidam, Communications Manager of FanMilk West Africa, emphasized Danone's commitment to health through food and sports, building on its legacy from the Paris 2024 Games.

The statement highlighted Danone's pride in partnering with these iconic competitions, which unite generations around shared values of proximity, transmission, and celebration, aligning perfectly with Danone's values. As an Official Partner, Danone will provide dairy products to over 10,000 volunteers, 5,000 accredited journalists, officials, and team members involved in these sporting events. Additionally, products will be accessible in stadiums and fan zones, allowing spectators to enjoy quality nutrition close to the action.

Danone will showcase its flagship African brands, including Danone, Dan'Up, NutriDay, Jamila, FanYogo, FanChoco, and FanMaxx from Ghana, through campaigns and public activities during the competitions. The WAFCON is scheduled from July 5 to July 26, 2025, followed by the AFCON from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.

The statement further mentioned Danone's sustainable commitment to youth through the CAF's African Schools Program, developing educational kits to promote balanced diets and physical activity. This initiative builds on the legacy of the Danone Nations Cup, an international children's football tournament organized by Danone for over 20 years.

Mr. Antoine de Saint-Affrique, CEO of Danone, stated, "This partnership fully reflects our mission: bring health through food to as many people as possible. The values of these competitions deeply resonate with those of Danone." He expressed pride in being part of these events to showcase Danone's brands and vision across Africa.

Mr. Lionel Parent, Managing Director of FanMilk Ghana, remarked on FanMilk's 65-year history in providing dairy products to Ghanaians. He emphasized the company's dedication to fostering social progress and ensuring the longevity of its heritage brand, aligning this partnership with their initiatives on responsible waste management and healthy snacking habits through the FanMilk School Caravan campaign in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service.
