Tunis: Tunisian film 'Four Daughters' directed by Khaouther Ben Hania has won three awards at the 8th edition of the 'Critics' Awards for Arab films', organised each year on the sidelines of the Cannes Film Festival.This documentary feature film (107', 2023) won the 'Best Director' and 'Best Documentary' awards, presented to Khaouther Ben Hania. The 'Best Editing' award went to Qutaiba Barhamji.The awards were announced on Saturday at a ceremony on the sidelines of the 77th Cannes Film Festival (May 14-28).Tunisian composer Amine Bouhafa won the 'Best Music' award for 'Hajjan', a Saudi feature film directed by Egyptian Bakr Shawky.Amine Bouhafa was also nominated for Best Music for Four Daughters.Kaouther Ben Hania's film was also nominated for Best Actor (Majd Mastoura), Best Actress (Hend Sabry), Best Cinematography (Farouk LaSridh) and Best Editing (Qutaiba Barhamji) at this year's Arab Film Critics Awards.Ben Hania's fifth feature, which is Tunisia's entry for the 2024 Oscars, is a co-producti on between Tunisia (Cinetelefilms prod), France, Saudi Arabia and Germany. It had its world premiere at the 76th Cannes Film Festival (May 16-27, 2023).The Sudanese film 'Goodbye Julia', written and directed by Mohamed Kordofani, won this year's Best Film Award and Best Screenplay Award.The Arab Film Critics' Awards are presented each year at a ceremony held during the Cannes Film Festival.
