Community Gathers to Honor Professor Mabel Oti-Boadi’s Academic Achievement

Accra: Family and friends of Professor Mrs. Mabel Oti-Boadi, a Clinical Psychologist and Associate Professor at the Psychology Department of the University of Ghana, gathered on Sunday to celebrate her recent promotion.

According to Ghana News Agency, the University of Ghana has recently promoted Prof. Oti-Boadi to the position of Associate Professor of Psychology. The celebration saw members of the "50 and Counting Club," a community group for those aged 50 and above in Adentan, and the "Positive Impact Club," a student group mentored by Prof. Oti-Boadi, join family, loved ones, and academic peers to share their experiences with her and acknowledge the positive impact she has had on their lives.

Prof. Mrs. Mabel Oti-Boadi holds fellowships with prestigious institutions including the Fox International Fellowship at Yale University and the Center for Suicide and Violence Research-Ghana (CSVR). She is also a fellow with the Pan-African Gender Integration Platform at the Gender Malaria Policy and Advocacy Project-Centre for Gender Studies and Advocacy and is affiliated with both the Center for Gender Studies and Advocacy and the Center for Ageing Studies at the University of Ghana.

In addition to her academic achievements, Prof. Oti-Boadi serves on the board of the Inclusive Family Alliance, an organization advocating for the inclusion and support of families with children with disabilities. She has contributed to scholarly publications focusing on adolescent and women's mental health and the challenges of parenting children with special needs.

Beyond her professional work, Prof. Oti-Boadi is known for her philanthropic efforts, regularly donating to orphanages and special needs communities in Ghana, particularly on her birthday. She is also a licensed practising Clinical Psychologist in the country.
