Coach Karim Zito expresses satisfaction with ban on Baba Yara Sports Stadium 

Abdul Karim Zito, former Dreams FC Head Coach says CAF's decision to ban Baba Yara Sports Stadium from hosting competitive matches comes as an advantage to help improve Ghana's football infrastructure.The 40,000-capacity stadium was banned after Ghana's AFCON qualifier against Angola which saw the facility in a deplorable state.The Head Coach speaking in an interview with the GNA Sports said 'I am okay with this decision by CAF because this would help us to do things better as a football-loving nation'.Coach Zito said he was saddened with the level at which the stadium had been managed, following Ghana's credibility in Africa.He highlighted the role pitches play in affecting the performances of professional players.?'These boys we are using are used to the fields outside so when they come here, they feel very uncomfortable and also afraid of injury,' he said.?The U-19 Head Coach made reference to Angola's goal against the Black Stars which he claimed was a result of the poor state of the pitch.The National Sports Authority had been tasked by the Ministry of Youth and Sports to work hand in hand with the right authorities to get the Baba Yara Sports Stadium ready for competitive use.?Source: Ghana News Agency
