Accra: Reverend Wellington Klutse, the Ho Kpodzi Parish Pastor of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, has urged Christians to adopt humility, obedience, and a law-abiding nature as essential elements of their new life in Jesus Christ. He emphasized these values during his exhortation at the start of a three-day Easter crusade organized by the SSNIT Flats District of the Church at Adaklu Vodze in the Adaklu District. The event, themed 'New Life in Christ,' drew inspiration from Romans 5:4-5 and saw participation from five congregations, including SSNIT Flats in Ho, Adaklu Kodzobi, Adaklu Vodze, Adaklu Have, and Adaklu Dzakpo.
According to Ghana News Agency, Rev. Klutse expressed concern that rather than distinguishing themselves from worldly ways, many Christians have distanced themselves from the essence of Christ, leading lives that contradict their faith. He lamented the tendency of Christians to engage in behaviors such as alcohol consumption and drug use, noting the rarity of such activities in Muslim communities. Rev. Klutse emphasized the importance of Jesus Christ for the survival of Christians, likening His necessity to that of water, food, and air for human survival.
The Pastor highlighted that many Christians neglect reading and meditating on the Bible, which diminishes their spiritual vitality. He urged them to adhere to Biblical teachings and make sacrifices for the kingdom of God, strengthening their bond with Him. Rev. Klutse called on Christians to embody the resurrected Christ in their daily lives, influencing their homes, communities, and workplaces positively.
Additionally, Rev. Dr. Francis Kuvor, the District Pastor, encouraged Christians to remain steadfast in their faith amid challenges, reminding them of the presence of the resurrected Christ in their lives.
