Christian Life Begins with Regeneration of Attitude – Pastor Amankwah

Nkawie: Deeper Christian life begins with the regeneration of attitude that entails a radical supernatural transformation of conduct, Pastor Isaac Amankwah, Nkawie District Pastor of the Deeper Life Christian Ministry (DLCM), has said. He emphasized that many believers struggle to experience victory over daily sins because they do not fully understand how regeneration empowers them, despite claiming to be saved.

According to Ghana News Agency, Pastor Amankwah delivered his sermon during a five-day, 11-district annual Easter retreat held at Mpasatia in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region. During the sermon, he elaborated on the importance of sincere acknowledgment of one’s status as a sinner, deep conviction and sorrow for sin, confession and repentance, faith in atonement, and the decision to forsake sins as meaningful steps to achieving regeneration.

He urged members to maintain their victory over sin by avoiding the desires of the flesh that could lead them into fornication, drunkenness, gambling, and other vices. Pastor Amankwah advised the congregation to dwell with the Holy Spirit through prayer, adherence to the word of God, obedience, overcoming temptation, and spiritual growth.

“Regeneration is the gateway to a victorious life that changes our nature, breaks the power of sin, and empowers us to live for Christ,” he added. To illustrate his sermon, Pastor Amankwah quoted various Biblical passages, including Titus 3:5, Second Corinthians 5:17, John 3:3, Ephesians 2:1-8, Psalm 51:1-7, Isaiah 59:1, and Galatians 5:6.

The retreat, themed “Experiencing the Power of His Resurrection,” aimed to inspire 2,000 members across different departments, including children, youth, campus (tertiary students), and adults within the Abuakwa, Sepaase, Afari, Akropong, Nyinahin, Foase, Manhyia, Achiase, Toase, Nkawie, and Mpasatia districts of the church. Topics covered during the retreat included regeneration and victory over sin, authenticating the facts (apologia), examining one’s faith (prayer), eliminating fears, encouragement for Christian perseverance, faithfulness to God in all things, love, obedience, and submission in the family.
