Chief Imam Urges Families to Remain Steadfast After Tragic Helicopter Crash

Accra: The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, has called upon the families of the victims of the August 6 helicopter crash to remain steadfast in fortitude and patience during this period of immense pain. Offering the Islamic opening prayer at the State Funeral in Accra for the eight deceased individuals, Sheikh Sharubutu emphasized that death is an integral part of life's divine journey.

According to Ghana News Agency, Sheikh Sharubutu reminded the bereaved families that everyone will eventually follow the path of those who have passed. He encouraged mourners to find solace in a Qur'anic verse that underscores the inevitability of human mortality and the promise of divine comfort: 'Indeed, from Allah we come and to Him shall we return.'

Sheikh Sharubutu elaborated on the divine rewards promised to those who maintain their faith during times of misfortune. He explained that the first reward is a heavenly benediction that surpasses all worldly possessions. The second reward is compassion from God, and the third is divine guidance for those who submit wholly to the will of the Almighty during their suffering. These divine compensations, he stated, outweigh the pain of loss, urging the nation to draw strength from their faith.

The Chief Imam also offered prayers for the affected families, asking Allah to grant them the strength needed to endure this difficult period. He prayed for the President, asking God to provide patience and divine support in his leadership. Concluding his message, Sheikh Sharubutu prayed for the entire nation, hoping they would not witness a recurrence of such a tragedy in the country's future.
